No other construction projects killed elves faster or easier. So while watching your tiny town of five buildings, grab some cookies and Pepsi and the game would literally beat itself for you ten game days later.
Here’s the new difficulty of Majesty 2: 1. There isn’t a 3rd tax collector when you build three inns like in Majesty 1. There isn’t an elf casino that won half your games in Majesty 1. The trading posts don’t give double or triple gold with level 2 or 3 respectively Marketplaces like Majesty 1. Bottom line, this game is hard!
But certainly playable. Think of the Scions of Darkness campaign the first one you play in the Majesty 1 expansion where there’s a lot of luck involved, and if you don’t have it you lose. The quests in Majesty 1 took me max 40 days or 50 game days in the expansion. Don’t frown if Majesty 2 quests take a game days. But you know what? Nobody is judging anyone who took days to beat a quest.
Enjoy the game because it’s longer. These reviewers think this game is impossible when they’ve only played half the game. Actually, the difficulty recommendations are random, and most expert quests are easier than advanced or sometimes beginner.
Get through the annoying quests and you’ll have a ball. So to hit some key points, the download process was very good. Great idea, but something to be aware of. Game save issues NOT fixed. The second you exit out, the game basically wipes and you have to start all over. The dialogue needs editing. The graphics are cute but the actual gameplay is akward. I was prepared to deal with the gameplay issues, but the lack of any saved game progress or even remembering the profile is a deal breaker.
Don’t waste your time and money. We are really sorry that it took us too long to fix this problem. We are currently working on it.
The desktop version of Majesty is my favorite game of all time, and unlike many conversions, this captures the feel beautifully. If you have a 5Mbps DSL, that equates to. If you have cable internet at 20Mbps, that equates to 2. So just be aware of the time to download. The game itself is fun, but as you go up in the realms, it becomes insanely difficult. It appears that the game is set up to make you die unless you do certain things. Example, “The Gold Chyort” will drive you nuts, how do you survive? You make your base and then get wiped out.
You emphasize on defense and still get wiped out. Read the walk-throughs out there on the net, you will need it. The game has a strong “World of Warcraft” feel, you have to gather resources money , research for better defense as well as offense, increasing armor, etc.
It is a fun game until you hit the levels where it goes insane. Do not go and think that you can clear the map and get everything. The graphics is very good and the game does not demand a great computer system to play on so a very good trade off. In the end, a really fun game; tip.
Make sure to get the drawven base, you get a kick-butt defensive post which has a good range to cover and is devastating to the creature that attack you, but costs a lot so place them in well positioned areas. It says that the content was corrupted and I should reinstall the game. So I downloaded this again, and reinstalled it, and it gives me the same message, content corrupted, reinstall. So, nothing works.
Now this is probably caused by the peeps at Majesty2 or something, but there seems to be no way to post a technical problem except to scream about it in a review.
So here it is. I picked up the game on sale so I wasn’t expecting too much for such an inexpensive purchase never played the first one. However, this is the first game I have played all the way through the campaign in a long time.
I know this game has been compared a lot to Warcraft, Age of Empires, Starcraft and the like which I have all played but in my opinion it is in its own little niche.
It is an RTS but the inability to issue direct commands makes for some really interesting game play.
