They are major releases that are supported for a xerver time. While they do get security updates, they don’t get many if any feature updates. The idea behind these version of Windows Server is that it is stable, so it’s a good choice for your core infrastructure. Semi-Annual includes the most recent features, support lifecycle is shorter then the 10 years support for WS View solution in original post. So if I understand this correctly, Microsoft N-1 model means that we no longer have access to the long term release branch?
I am incredulous that Microsoft would do something to harm it’s partners ability to do their work. Then again, Microsoft tried to pull Internal Usage Rights in July, and only backtracked after an outright partner mutiny, so maybe I shouldn’t be so incredulous. N-1 “rules” do not really apply with regards to Semi-Annual – see the first post where the other user confirmed and Windows Server was available – and WS is similar to version , so in fact a N-2 version.
